Night Sanctuary

i have always loved to draw...though i am not always pleased
with my creations...i do love the process.
i have been thinking
i need some practice mixed with some inspiration.
so i have signed on line
for a class...with an artist...
who is not only fun but is ever so lovely...
..my hope..
to move beyond where i am...
i may not be exactly sure where that is...
but i do know I must bring to life
my own.."Night Sanctuary"
somehow...someway.

Otto Hesselbom (Swedish, 1848-1913),
Nattens helgedom [Night Sanctuary].
Oil on canvas, 48 x 37 cm.

  1. Precious one,

I too feel the same way about MY ART. But the process, I am finding, is as important if NOT SO THE MOST, for becoming an artist. I think that to be an artist requires more than the skill. It requires the WILL to go on, in the dark, to find the stars.

  2. My friend!

I had a busy Saturday at a bridal fair, but I wanted to come to thank you for coming to my post. And your comment about the little illustration on the side! YES, I am offering her in my Etsy shop as cards. I just have not had a chance to put her into my shop yet. I have been so insanely busy that I am behind on my Easter illustrations. My goal however, is to fill up my shop with all sorts of cards, my main focus now.

Oh, we are courageous aren't we all, how walk in the dark, seeking the light of satisfaction of our hearts' labor. LOVE TO YOU! Anita

Maybe loving books is not so simple. Just like a healthy relationship needs work and changes with time, so too does our relationship with the things we own as we try to define ourselves and not be defined by stuff. Simply owning books didn’t make me a reader. What did make me a reader was an insatiable appetite for new stories and the things they have taught me. I would not be a better person for owning a library; I become a better person because I chose to read. — New Home, Empty Shelves (via booklover)
