thoughts on writing

the public sector of education
is not without its marvels,
its spectacles,
nor its absolute wonders.
and it is because on any given day
i cannot be sure what i shall find
that these words hold a special place
in my heart of hearts.

"It is because of her that I am cursed with optimism.
The belief that I can somehow will things to go right
more often than they go wrong or to be an agent of God’s intention
for them to go right." - william zinsser

  1. Good morning my dear...

I have been teaching the last two days and I must tell you that the joy I get from helping students with their writing is my greatest joy as an educator. Helping them find their voice and watching THEM see the power of writing is beyond joy. THANK YOU for this message! Anita

  2. hello,
i so agree, writing can be a sacred space
a space to explore and create
a place where the unknown can rise to the surface of light to be considered
thank you for sharing this post.

Maybe loving books is not so simple. Just like a healthy relationship needs work and changes with time, so too does our relationship with the things we own as we try to define ourselves and not be defined by stuff. Simply owning books didn’t make me a reader. What did make me a reader was an insatiable appetite for new stories and the things they have taught me. I would not be a better person for owning a library; I become a better person because I chose to read. — New Home, Empty Shelves (via booklover)
